About Department: This Department provides with the facilities for the identification, purification, synthesis and standardization of Pharmaceuticals. The laboratories of this Department are well equipped with hot air ovens, magnetic stirrers with hot plate, refractometers, polarimeters, pH meters, muffle furnace, electronic balances, MP/BP apparatus, colorimeters etc.
Pharmaceutical Chemistry Labs are well equipped with latest instruments to impart practical training to the students. The department has a Pharmaceutical Chemistry Lab I (Organic Chemistry Lab), Pharmaceutical Chemistry Lab II (Pharmaceutical Medicinal Chemistry Lab), Pharmaceutical Bio-chemistry Lab

From HOD's Desk


HOD's Desk: The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry is responsible for teaching inorganic, aliphatic and aromatic organic chemistry and stereochemistry, and physical Chemistry. The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry is also responsible for teaching different methods in the analysis of pharmaceutical products including volumetric analysis and instrumental analysis, food and cosmetic analysis, applied analytical chemistry and quality control. The academic staff comprises of specialists in Medicinal Chemistry & Spectroscopy. The department is also responsible for teaching pharmaceutical products and drug design and drug interaction and the synthesis of pharmaceutical products to both undergraduate and postgraduate Pharmacy students.
