Extra-Curricular Activities

Extracurricular activities are those that fall outside the realm of the normal curriculum extracurricular activities are the activities you participate in outside of the regular classroom environment. Extracurricular activities can include student clubs, sports teams, volunteering, student government, or even a part-time job or internship. We at JSPM’s Jayawantrao Sawant College of Pharmacy & Research, Hadapsar organizing the various extra curricular activities for the overall development of students also to identify and showcase the hidden talents in the form of intra and inter college cultural festivals. Events like debate, rangoli, elocution, street plays, mehendi, essay writing etc.

Purpose

These activities include music, art or drama, cultural activities, and extension activities to orient the students thinking about gender equity, environment, cleanliness, community service etc. These activities are generally voluntary. Extra-curricular activities render the students a sense of togetherness, attitude towards the community and meaningful living leading to inculcation of professional and moral values.

Doctors day celebration

Event: Doctors day celebration. Day and date: Wednesday, July 3, 2019
Organisers: JSPM’s JSCOPR Department of Pharmacology
Co-ordinator: Dr Amol P. Muthal

Participants: Students and teachers of Cygnet Paradise School, Senior KG , Hadapsar, Pune.

Report: On occasion of International Doctors Day 1 July, 2019, a visit of senior KG students was organized by the Department of Pharmacology of college to the laboratory with objective to impart basic knowledge of human body and awareness about good health habits.
Around 20 students of TY B. Pharm volunteered and actively participated to demonstrate the human body model.
Total 90 students accompanied by 5 school teachers visited the department in 3 groups of 30 student each along. Ms. Pranjali Pathak of T. Y. B. Pharm explained the human body parts to the students.
Bhakti Kshirsagar, Nikiat Phapale, Shruti Navaskar, Shrutika katakar, Rashika Phule, demonstrated the use of stethoscope, surgical instruments, different medicines, etcMoreover the students and teachers appreciated the detailing of good health habits and asked questions . The enthusiastic and innocent responses by the kids to questions asked by the volunteers provided great impetus to the volunteering activity of pharmacy students. The program concluded with the distribution of chocolates to all the participants.
Students thoroughly enjoyed all the activities including the listening of their heart sound.
Outcome: The kids were made aware of the human body parts and a few good habits to stay healthy, whereas the volunteers got the experience of communicating with the teachers and students as expected in professional practice. 




Celebrations of International Yog Day (Date: 21/06/2019)

Active participation at world record setting activity of distribution of Neem saplings in the presence of Honourable Chief Minister, Maharashtra State, Shri Devendra Fadanavis and Guinness Book World Record Review Committee. This event was organized by NSS Unit of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.

Title of Activity: SPPU Guinness World Record an attempts to largest distribution of Saplings
Date & venue: 23rd June 2019, Savitribai Phule Pune University
Description of activity: The Savitribai Phule Pune University, Sunday 23rd June attempted to creat a Guinness World Record by distributing 16,731 saplings of neem to volunteers of National Service Scheme. The students of B.Pharm & M.Pharm of JSCOPR and Faculty are actively participated in this events. Each students was given a sapling at every entry to the university premises. Their entry was recorded with a barcode wristband. Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis,Pune Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil, Mayor Mukta Tilak, SPPU Vice Chancellor Nitin Karamalkar were present at the event.

Activities: Distribution of essential medicines, food packets ,water bottle and eco friendly food plates to the Warkaries at Urulidevachi.
